"nerd" and"loser" were like hard hitting insults in the early 2000’s and now they are used as affectionate terms we have truly come full circle

Sorry, but no, we did a 180. A full circle would mean we went back to them as insults

today was my last day in my creative writing class and my teacher gave everybody a piece of paper to write down a contract and to put it in our wallets. she said she did the same thing when she was younger and every now and then she’d brush by it and remember that she wanted to write. everybody took time to write out what they wanted and I just sat at the back of the class, sitting on the windowsill and I knew there was only one thing to write but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. at the end of the class after everybody left, I went to thank her for the year, and she told me that people should be reading my words for a long time, but they won’t be able to do that if I’m not around to write them. I showed her the blank piece of paper, and she said it was okay not to write anything, and then I wrote this. I learned the power of words in that class, I learned it was okay to vomit up half a dozen notebooks stained with blood and exploded pens because it means you have something to say.

AUTHOR OF THE DAY: Haruki Murakami
Haruki Murakami is a contemporary popular Japanese writer known for his impressive writing style. Born in January 12, 1949, in Kyoto, Japan, Murakami’s literature holds a huge Western influence. Growing up reading Kurt Vonnegut, Raymond Chandler, and Richard Brautigan, Murakami’s writing is intellectually enlightening but delivered explicitly; it is perfect for the everyday person and literature lovers. Its profundity and straight-forward language make Murakami and addictive author.
Murakami’s work has been translated into forty-two languages. It is often described as surrealistic with melancholic undertones exploring the pureness of solitude. Although his work is Western-influenced, Murakami never fails to weave in his Japanese culture. His novels are presented in a first-point of view, where his aim is for the reader to understand the protogonist and experience the main character’s essence of individuality. Most of his novels hold a strong ”Kafkaesque” streak, where aloneness and withdrawal reign. His most recent award is the Franz Kafka Prize.
Notable Works
A Wild Sheep Chase (1982)
 Norwegian Wood (1987)
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (1994-1995)
 Kafka on the Shore (2002)
1Q84  (2009-2010)

I think we all have that one person that we never truley get over, that we still think about right before bed everynight, or you will always jump at a chance to talk to ever tho you know you shouldn’t talk to, or the first person you think of whenever you’re drunk.
